best con sketch everrrrrrrr...

well, from me anyway....

monique suggested i throw something up, lest i incure the wrath of my army of faithful fans.

it's been kind of a hectic month, fettered with various deadlines, health issues, and other headaches. so please forgive my absence. i'm sure it's been a real nail biter for all six of you. i'll be throwing some new stuff up soon. promise.

just to end, i wanted to send out a very sincere get well soon to matthew clark, who had a pretty scary "cardiac event" over the weekend. while i can't claim to be much more than con-buddies with matt, he's one of sweetest guys i've met in the industry, and i just wanted to give him and his family my best.

i promise i'll get back to the sarcastic sniping in my next post...

tom's big weekend...

i'll be at the paradise toronto comicon this weekend. swing by and say something nice. i have a big announcement that i'm not allowed to make. if you're interested i can whisper it to you.

i think i'm doing a panel too...

angry monkey...

(look at me, i'm linkin'...)

pigeons and cake...

so, a good friend of mine, quebecois storyteller eric gauthier, emailed me the other to say that his book of stories "terre des pigeons" (illustrated by moi) had inspired an entry at the international edible
book festival's
first ever montreal event.

how fudding cool is that?! to be imortalised in pastry. take that world!!! who's got the cake now!!!!!!

eric sent some pictures...

that's eric at the bottom looking french.

he also wrote about the event here. warning it's written in frenchy talk.

more portfolio...

my wife told me to put some more stuff up...

this was for a local small press book fair. i'm always looking for the slimmest excuse to draw monkeys...

this is actually a pretty funny found image from a friend of mine, who caught her (much unliked) upstairs neighbour doing this. a good indication of the current state of the "new age", i thought...

this one could go in a few different directions. it's either about the state of urban decay, or a modern loss of innocence, or even the rise of asian gangs...

mostly though, it's about my fundamental distrust of pandas...
