here's the latest commission. again, both in greyscale and bitmap. i really can't decide which i like better.
soooooo... one look at the sidebar will show that i really need an update of how this blog archives things (AND a little twitter window, AND a little followers window...) all of which i believe are readily available if i update to the new blogger. my problem is that every time i've started the process of updating, i get a little message that more or less says: " you may lose some content".... and there's the rub. i don't care if i lose the links in the sidebar (they can be replaced easily enough), but i do not want to lose any past posts.
has anyone out there updated their blogger blogs from the beta version? what/how much did you lose? did you lose anything? did you and blogger rent a cabin in the woods and spoon all weekend? did it touch you in an uncomfortable place? did it leave you in a puddle of tears and regret? did you have to sue it for custody of your pomeranian: admiral fluffikins mcwhiskerface? why hasn't it called? can't it see you love it? roughly? etc...
thanks for your help/experience in the comments...
I updated mine a few months back and all i really lost were the links i'd put in the sidebar of fellow artists, etc. Didn't lose any actual art or anything. All you have to do is just add in the links of folks you like again; it's no big deal. For me, at least.
golly that was fast!
i've got a definite grampa deficiency whenever it comes to computer-type stuff...
I'm pretty fast, at least that's what the ladies say.
Ah i'm useless with computers to be honest, so I was worried before i 'updated' too, but as far ias i can tell, i lost no art/posts so i wouldn't worry if i were you....
Thought I would throw our experiences in. I updated Chris's blog (www.chrissamnee.com) to the new blogger recently and we did lose a bunch of images, but only because of how we were hosting it before. We had been hosting his blog on godaddy and uploading the blog images to that server. When we switched to the new blogger and had to host on blogger, we lost all of those images that were being hosted at godaddy. We didn't lose the posts, just the images. Any images we uploaded and hosted on photobucket came through just fine. It's kinda a pain, but we've been trying to upload the lost images to photobucket and correct the dead links on old posts.
so far as i know the current site is hosted by blogger/google proper(?).
is there some easy way i can find out?
... and thank you, laura.
Looking at your blog URL ,(which I didn't before, sorry), it looks like blogger is hosting since it includes blogspot in the address. You would have to pay someone else to host it off blogger, so you are probably good.
sweet! thanks again, laura.
you have easily the most adorable blog i've seen in a while btw...
I didn't lose anything either when I switched over. I had to change my skin/format though.
Thanks Tom! All adorableness credit goes to Chris though. :)
It's been a while since we met for the last time...
Keep rocking with your drawings! Last thing I saw from you we're those Star Wars stories...still in it?
Well, if there's no problem I'll link your blog in mine's!
